Koho
A taste of luxury for a Pacific icon
Creating a brand with soul meant capturing the essence of Hawaii and focusing on the right aspects of its modern character.
We researched Hawaii’s history, legends and its design language to develop a new sub-brand – KOHO. It was a name and identity that stemmed from our positioning, Found for You, which placed the brand as a connoisseur that seeks out and selects the best of Hawaii.
Our knowledge of the Japanese market enabled us to create a strategic platform for growth, and we drafted a brand architecture model that allows the brand to stand alone and expand.
Successfully launching the brand with covetable packaging and designing a retail space for Honolulu’s Ala Moana Center, we’ve helped a heritage brand to expand into a new market and ensure a trajectory that will take it global.
“From the outset, we knew working with Wink was going to be an incredible partnership. Their grasp of luxury and travel, combined with their savvy for global branding and international trends helped us create Koho, a luxury line we can tout in Hawaii and beyond.” Ed Schultz President, Hawaiian Host
The voice of Hawaii
We created KOHO as a brand that so authentically captures the essence of Hawaii it might be hewn from the very volcanic rock that makes up the islands, from the way the brand speaks to its vibrant patterns and graphics inspired by surrounding nature.
A retail sanctuary
Our luxury boutique concept drew inspiration from Hawaiian, Japanese and mid-century design, creating a space that would allow visitors to feel the sense of discovery and refinement embodied by the brand, and helping Koho secure a space in Honolulu’s renowned Ala Moana Center.
